Terrorists kill at least 58 Catholics in Baghdad church attack, slideshow, video

On Sunday night in Baghdad, Iraq, terrorists sympathetic to al-Qaeda attacked parishioners at Our Lady of Deliverance Catholic Church.  Between 100 and 120 hostages were taken before killing started.

Islamic State of Iraq, the terrorist group responsible, demanded the release of al-Qaeda members imprisoned in Iraq and Egypt.

Several terrorists were wearing vests laden with explosives and packed with ball bearings.  They were detonated when the policed arrived to attempt a rescue.

Survivors spoke of random killings and religious rants against the hostages.  As the Iraqi army stormed the church to put an end to the four-hour siege,   a gunman begam slaughtering hostages en masse.

At least 58 people were murdered by the terrorists, dozens are hospitalized with wounds.

This act of violence may trace its roots back to Rev. Terry Jones of  Gainesville, FL who planned to burn Korans several weeks ago.

"The Koran-burning was canceled, but anti-Christian hatred had already been stirred by the widespread advance publicity. And whether or not the Koran burning threat contributed to what was to come, the Iraqi priest’s fears proved correct," said the New York Times.

If this is not irrational, I don't know what is.   These Catholics had nothing to do with a "pastor" half-way around the world.   The terrorists shed innocent blood, and the true God,  the God of the Bible, not the Koran, hates the shedding of innocent blood (Proverbs 6:17)!
