Terrorism jokes aren't ever funny, and there should never be the words "terrorism" and "joke" even in the same sentence. Unfortunately, a 14-year-old girl on Twitter thought differently. WebProNews reported on Sunday, April 13, 2014, that the young girl tweeted a possible terrorist threat at American Airlines on Twitter, and it could bring some serious repercussions.
A young girl named Sarah, with the Twitter handle of "@QueenDemetriax_" tweeted early on Sunday morning that she had some upcoming plans this summer. Unfortunately, the plans weren't taken as just harmless fun.
She tweeted at American Airlines:
"hello my name's Ibrahim and I'm from Afghanistan. I'm part of Al Qaida and on June 1st I'm gonna do something really big bye."
American Airlines was quickly on top of things, and tweeted back:
"Sarah, we take these threats very seriously. Your IP address and details will be forwarded to security and the FBI."
The tweets have now gone viral, and "Sarah's" profile has been swamped with new followers, supporters, and also those coming down hard on her for her little "joke." There are a lot of profanities and graphic language from Sarah and others all along her Twitter feed.
Ever since the response from American Airlines, the user has said her account was hacked, said she doesn't care, said that June 1st is her sister's birthday, and been nothing but happy about how many new followers she has received.
She has since said that this has been "the highlight of my twitter days" and countless other things.
Countless users are hoping that the airline brings charges against the 14-year-old, and teach her a lesson. Considering she said she wanted to be famous but, "like Demi Lovato famous, not Osama Bin Laden famous."
