A business deal between the former Vice President of the United States and the known terrorist sympathizer and propagandist network Al-Jazeera shouldn’t surprise anyone. Progressive Liberals like Al Gore have rarely shied away from associating with people or organizations of questionable morals, ethics, and values – to put it lightly. Al-Jazeera has routinely provided Al Qaeda and other terrorist organizations access to our living rooms through its vile media coverage of the purveyors of evil in our world. Al-Jazeera announced its intentions to purchase Current TV just yesterday. Rumor-has-it
Al Gore was working diligently to close the sale by December 31, obviously an attempt to avoid the additional tax burden that would have been levied by his former colleagues the following morning on his $100 million payday.
Terrorists have always been able to rely on the media platform provided by Al-Jazeera when it broadcasts savage events like the beheading of Daniel Pearl or the constant bombardment of pro-jihad propaganda meant solely to assist in terrorist recruitment. Al-Jazeera has always played an integral role in the proliferation of Islamic terror messaging throughout the world but that doesn’t seem to deter Al Gore, especially when he will assume a position on the Al-Jazeera/Current TV advisory board.
Progressive Liberals in the media have always been on the wrong side of history when associating with, covering, and even honoring the dictators and tyrants in the world - past and present. Time Magazine honored Adolf Hitler, Nikita Khrushchev, Ayatollah Khomeini, and Joseph Stalin (twice) - as ‘Man of the Year’.
Al-Jazeera desperately wants to be recognized as a relevant news organization in the U.S. and it seems to believe that purchasing an organization that draws a mere 42,000 nightly viewers per show will open the door to relevancy. America’s major media outlets like NBC, ABC, CBS, Fox News, and CNN draw millions of viewers every night. Competition is fierce amongst the major’s and if Al-Jazeera, with terrorist ties, thinks it can compete in the U.S. media market by acquiring 42,000 viewers, it better think again.
Al-Jazeera is owned by the state of Qatar through the Qatar Media Corporation. In December 2009, a cable from the State Department labeled the small nation of Qatar as “the Middle East’s worst participant in counterterrorism efforts”, according to the New York Times. The cable also stated that Qatar was “hesitant to act against known terrorists out of concern for appearing to be aligned with the U.S. and provoking reprisals”. Qatar has also provided refuge to Khalid Shaikh Mohammed and has made multi-million dollar payments to Al Qaeda from its oil profits.
In September 2012, President Obama blocked a Chinese company from purchasing four wind farms near an Oregon Navy base, citing national security risks. For better or worse, China is still a major trading partner with the U.S. while Qatar is essentially irrelevant. China is currently not considered a state sponsor of terror but it’s obvious the U.S. State Department has its doubts about Qatar. The fact that President Obama would deny commerce with one of our most crucial trading partners but fails to intervene when Al-Jazeera, a corporation with terrorist ties, purchases an American company is beyond reprehensible.
Of course President Obama, along with Al Gore, is another Progressive Liberal who seems to be on the wrong side of history, once again.
