Update 10/2/13: According to HEART, this dog has a rescue in place and is safe! Please refer to this website for other dogs who are risk of being killed.

An intuitive German shepherd, locked behind bars at a Columbia, S.C., animal control facility, appears to know that he is in grave danger.

According to the shelter employees, the young dog, just two years of age, is so shut down that he will not get up from the floor.

His Petango.com biography reads:

This poor boy is very shut down. He's terrified and has flattened himself on the floor and won't get up for us.

The "final date," for this terrified dog is October 4 - just two, short days away.

Anyone who can help, or who has an inquiry on ID# 21146686, is asked to email: info@heartofthemidlands.org.
