UPDATE ON FLORA: Flora is no longer scared. She is on her way to her new home, and we all wish Flora and her new mom a happily ever after. Thank you everyone for sharing Flora's story.
At the overcrowded San Bernardino Animal Shelter, Flora sits quietly in Kennel 41, and makes no eye contact or movement with anyone. A volunteer writes:
"Flora just broke my heart so bad that I had to leave the shelter early today. She doesn't move."
No one knows for sure if Flora just had a litter of puppies or if she is pregnant. She has not growled or shown any aggression. As of the latest report, four-year-old Flora is available for adoption.
Flora has not been examined by a veterinarian, and it is unknown if her stillness is due to panic or pain; this is a truly desperate situation. When a volunteer entered Flora's kennel, this poor soulful dog defecated on herself; again no aggression has been noted.
Flora's tragic story has been shared over 2,500 times, but there are still no guarantees this dog has been rescued.
