Sony updated the Playstation Store on Tuesday with new deals that give massive discounts to “Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale,” “ICO” and “Shadow of the Colossus” for the PS3 plus a free game for the Playstation Vita, “Terraria.”
“Terraria” is a 2D, side-scrolling sandbox title from Re-Logic and 505 Games. It’s similar to “Minecraft” in that it is based in a procedurally-generated world and full of exploration and building, but has a little more “Metroid”-style adventure built into it.
Playstation Plus members with a PS Vita can download the game for free as part of the Instant Game Collection promotion. “Terraria” does support cross-play with the Playstation 3 but does that version is not eligible for the free download promotion.
An Only On Playstation Sale also started with the PS Store update. Plus members that own a PS3 get the biggest discounts with “ICO,” “Shadow of the Colossus,” “Twisted Metal” and “Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale” all marked down to $5. Non-members can get those games for $9.99 along with “Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction” and “A Crack in Time” at the same price for both members and non-members.
The PS4, PS3 and PS Vita versions of “Flower” are also on sale for $3.49 for PS Plus members while “LittleBigPlanet” is $7.50, “Dead Nation Apocalypse Edition” for the PS4 is $3.75 and “Tearaway” for the PS Vita is $17.49.
Multiplatform games are on sale as well including “Trine 2,” “Persona 3: FES, “Disgaea: Hour of Darkness” and “God Mode” for $3.99 or less. A handful of sports games are on sale as well but outside of “Hot Shots: World Golf Invitational” and “MLB 13: The Show” for the PS Vita, most of these deals can be had for cheaper at retail.
A PS Plus subscription is required to download free games as part of the Instant Game Collection. Retailers like Amazon, Best Buy and GameStop sell subscriptions for $49.99 for a year or $17.99 for three months.
