Terraria was tentatively dated for the end of February but was pushed without much fanfare. 505 Games announced Friday that the port of the indie PC hit finally has a release date for the PS3 and Xbox 360.
Playstation Network users in North America will get Terraria first on Tuesday, March 26 followed by Xbox LIVE users and European PSN users on Wednesday, March 27. The game will be priced at $14.99 for the PS3 and 1200 MS Points for the Xbox 360.
Terraria for the consoles is not a straight port of the PC version. Instead, 505 Games added split-screen multiplayer for up to four players, eight player online multiplayer, a tutorial, a world map, new controls, armor, ultimate weapons, music, enemies, pets and a final boss.
For those unfamiliar with the game, Terraria can best be described as a 2D sidescrolling version of Minecraft but with more adventure elements as players go on quests and battle waves of enemies.
