The off-camera drama for Teresa and Joe Giudice never seems to end and now comes news that Teresa has asked a federal judge to schedule an earlier pretrial hearing date.

According to a report in the International Business Times on Feb. 17, Teresa also plans to ask for a separate trial from her husband Joe. Teresa’s lawyer has already filed a motion to move up the court date and is asking that Teresa’s trial begin at the earliest convenience of the court. Reportedly Joe Giudice has not been particularly cooperative. The reason that Teresa may seek a separate trial from her husband is because their legal counsels may think it provide Teresa and Joe the opportunity to better defend themselves.

Teresa and Joe Giudice have been charged with 41 felony counts, including bankruptcy fraud, conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud, bank fraud and making false statements on loan applications. Allegedly the couple benefited financially to the tune of $4.6 million in fraudulent withdrawals, mortgages from home equity lines of credit for construction and mortgages. Teresa and Joe each face up to 50 years in federal prison.
