Gia Giudice learned a hard lesson recently when she tweeted a derogatory term and immediately faced public criticism. She now realizes that, as a public figure, she has to be more careful with what she says and what she does. In an interview with Star magazine, posted on Friday, Feb. 14, Teresa Giudice's 13-year-old daughter, frequently seen with her parents on "The Real Housewives of New Jersey," talked about how she deals with fame and her parents legal troubles.
She admitted that it's not easy to be on reality TV.
"Well, it’s not easy. When I was younger, I didn’t realize what it was, or what impact it could take on me in the future. But, you know, that’s how I grew up, and I have to take responsibilities for my actions because I am always in the public eye," she replied when asked about how it feels be a part of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey."
There are positives of being part of a celebrity family of course. Gia loves the special treatments and free things.
"The most fun about being a reality star is when we get special treatment. For instance, when I go to Disney, I get to go first in line, or when I want concert tickets…I can get them for free!" she said.
As for her parents's legal troubles, Gia said that they tell her that they are "handling it" and that "everything will be okay." Rather than being torn apart, Gia said that they're closer than ever as a family.
Not surprisingly, considering that Teresa is the author of several cookbooks, one way the family is staying tight-knit is cooking together. The entire family recently got together for their tradition of making homemade sausages.
