Teresa and Joe Giudice’s fraud trial has been postponed by a judge. North Jersey reports on Sept. 6 that the case was moved because Joe Giudice is facing a trial for a separate fraud charge related to his driver’s license. The judge also noted that the defense team needs more time to assemble paperwork.
Teresa and Joe Giudice were initially ordered to appear before a judge on Oct. 8, but the trial has been moved to Feb. 24. Joe is facing a separate trial for obtaining a driver’s license by using his brother’s identification. The October date for Joe’s case would interfere with the couple’s case because he is relying on the same lawyer.
This the second time in one week that the cast of “RHONJ” has seen their trial dates moved. The court date for Joe Gorga, Jacqueline Laurita and Christopher Laurita was recently moved to Sept. 26. Their case involves a fight at the Posche 2 boutique with John Karagiorgis.
Both Joe and Teresa plan to plead not guilty to 39 fraud charges. The “Real Housewives of New Jersey” stars could face jail sentences of 50 years, and Joe Giudice may be deported. Filming for Season 6 will begin soon, and the Giudice’s trial is expected to be included. Teresa did not post an update about the postponement on her official Twitter account. Instead, she wrote about hunting for a place that will fit a mysterious new project. The “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star made no mention of her upcoming trial.
