Teresa and Joe Giudice plan to plead guilty to fraud and the other charges that have been brought against them. Radar Online reports on Feb. 28 that the “Real Housewives of New Jersey” couple has been working on a plea deal to try to avoid jail sentences. Although Teresa allegedly has a chance of avoiding prison time, Joe may still face several years in jail.

The Giudice family is rumored to be in the process of securing a plea deal that would give Teresa probation and limit Joe to five years in prison. The couple would have to pay an $11 million fine, and Joe could still be deported to Italy.

The Giudice’s have allegedly shifted from originally pleading not guilty by deciding to plead guilty. The change may be greatly influenced by the plea deal, but their actions in court will reveal the true state of their negotiations. Teresa and Joe had hoped they could both avoid jail time for the 41 charges because they did not want to leave their daughters without any parents.

If the plea deal is not accepted, then both Joe and Teresa could spend several years in jail. Joe may spend three years while Teresa may spend two years, but probation is also possible. In addition to wanting to raise her daughters, Teresa wants to avoid prison because she does not want to jeopardize her part on the “Real Housewives of New Jersey.” The reality show provides an important paycheck for the family that faces an $11 million fine.
