Terdo Goes Yard-O In Braves Spring Training Opener

So that's probably the most intriguing title you're going to see without incorporating a swimsuit model, but it is spot on.

The 2012 Gwinnett Braves Underachiever of the Year Joe Terdoslavich blasted a solo home run in the 9th inning of the Braves first spring training game.

The script could flip on "Terdo" in 2013. After an extremely disappointing 2012 that ended with a demotion to AA-Danville, Terdoslavich appears ready to make a strong case to hit his way into the majors.

Before his disappointing 2012, he was one of the top position players in 2011. Baseball America named him the "Best Power Hitter" in the Braves system when he led all minor league baseball in doubles.

Now, don't expect Terdoslavich to land in Atlanta or possibly even Gwinnett to start the year. However, he has been spotted participating in some outfield drills.

After the failed attempt to switch him from first base to third base, getting comfortable in the outfield could help get him to the majors faster because there is quite a logjam at first base in the Braves' system behind Freddie Freeman in Atlanta and Ernesto Mejia in Gwinnett.

With the Gwinnett outfield going through an immense amount of turnover, Terdoslavich's bat would be great protection for Mejia in the middle of the order.

What would really make for an impressive lineup would be if Evan Gattis started the year in Gwinnett as well.

The final layer of greatness could be a potential move for Christian Bethancourt once Brian McCann gets back to the major league roster. McCann will probably rehab with the G-Braves for a couple games, too.

If Mejia, Gattis and Bethancourt all spend the majority of the year in Gwinnett, it should make for an explosive middle of the order. Who fills in the other 6 spots in the order will take a little more time to figure out.
