MMORPG "Tera," or more formally "The exiled Realm of Arborea," recently announced that it would be holding a "No Sleep 'til 60" event, which would award players for achieving the level-cap of 60 between March 12 and March 26. Eligible to new players creating characters after 12:01 AM PDT (or 3:00 AM EST) on March 12, the contest awards players with various items and accessories for achieving levels 30, 40, 50, and ultimately 60 within the two weeks.
Generally free-to-play, this contest gives players access to content otherwise reserved for "Elite," or "paying," customers. Bonuses include experience boosts, Strong Box keys used for opening special treasure chests, and exclusive mounts including the recently unveiled EX-TRM mechanical mount.
The contest is only open to new players creating new accounts, in an effort to draw new users to the game. "Tera" was first released in South Korea on Jan. 25, 2011, and was opened to North America on May 1, the following year. The game has enjoyed success due to its engaging story and a combat system more involved than most MMO's and leagues above most free-to-play titles.
