The popular Cross Fit program will join over one-hundred tried and tested exhibitions and product demonstrations at the tenth anniversary FitExpo this weekend. The annual event at the Los Angeles Convention Center has grown steadily by adding these kinds of innovative programs and attracting visitors with events they can participate in and discounts that pay for the $20 admission many times over.
The choices for the new Cross Fit “Battle of the Boxes” show how the show has built an enthusiastic following and focused on an audience that makes a serious investment in lifelong fitness. The Saturday Cross Fit event will feature individual competitions. The Sunday program is for teams, giving everyone a chance to excel at what they do best. Both of these programs are already sold out, demonstrating the power of FitExpo to generate good participation and generate visibility for sponsor Progenix.
There are many more all new programs on the schedule, too. “Best Abs,” “Best Legs” and “Best Biceps” competitions will motivate bodybuilders to keep up with their grueling workouts. The all new “California Armwrestling Championship” is on the schedule for Saturday and Sunday at 11 a.m. New “Strongman Combat,” “Battle of the Bar” and “Jump Rope” competitions will join perennial favorites such as weightlifting, JiuJitsu, and continuing education classes for personal trainers. There will also be fourteen state-of-the-art fitness classes (workout clothes recommended).
Sports nutrition will get special attention at the Healthy Eating Pavilion. Celebrity Chef Nathan Lyon will demonstrate "Healthy Seasonal Food." James Barry and Margaret Floyd will present two nutrition programs to combine good health with good taste. Vegetarian expert Bryan Au and vitamin expert William Deihl will also share their expertise with Healthy Eating Pavilion.
Most fitness devotees need all weekend to see and participate in the wide array of programs. Fortunately, there is a special weekend pass for a two day visit for just $30. Visitors can also save on gas and parking by taking the Metro Blue Line to Pico Station, one block east of the Los Angeles Convention Center.
