The Tennessee men’s basketball team is in New Orleans preparing to play its first game of the 2012 SEC Tournament tomorrow night. The 2nd-seeded Vols are trying to add a win or two to their resume as they seek to end all of the speculative bubble talk and punch their ticket to the Big Dance.

First up for the Vols will be the Ole Miss Rebels. Ole Miss topped Auburn 68-54 in the first round on Thursday night to earn the right to face the Vols. At 19-12, the Rebels will have tournament aspirations of their own when they take the court in New Orleans Arena.

Tennessee won the previous meeting 73-60 on February 22nd at Thompson Boling Arena.

The consensus among Bracketologists is that the Vols need at least one win in the SEC tournament to be considered for the NCAA tournament. Two victories would land the Vols in the SEC championship game and would essentially guarantee a spot in the NCAA tournament, regardless of the outcome of the championship game.

The NCAA selection committee will announce the tournament brackets on Sunday evening.

Tip-off is set for 7:30pm ET on Friday.
