There is almost always a cultural event going on at Market Square Mall in Knoxville. Downtown hosts plenty of festivals and events to keep families and couples busy. Summer 2014 is shaping up to be an excellent year for cultural entertainment in Knoxville. This year, the Tennessee Stage Company brings back Shakespeare in the Square.
The plays will be performed on Market Square Mall. There is no admission charge for general seating. However, the Tennessee Stage Company will pass a basket and ask for donations.
In the past, there hasn't been any hard and fast rule about how much to give. An amount has been suggested but it was up to each person to give as they felt led. They suggest a minimum donation of $10 per person. That's less than some movie ticket prices and the proceeds will help the Tennessee Stage Company with all of their projects.
In 2014, Shakespeare on the Square 2014 will feature Much Ado about Nothing and Titus Andronicus. Audience members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. New for this year is VIP seating. Patrons can get a bottle of water and the VIP seating for $15.
The plays run from mid-July to mid-August. More information on Shakespeare on the Square in Knoxville is available online at the website for the Tennessee Theater Company.
