Today I will present figures showing the Tennessee Medicaid Gap in Hardin through Loudon Counties. These figures come from the Small Area Health Insurance Estimates provided by the U.S. Census Bureau and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This site is used by the health industry and activists alike, and all margins of error given have a 90% confidence level. Because of the examiner.com page setup, I separate each item of data with a comma, thus:

County, # in Gap, % of County Population, % margin of error

Hardin, # in Gap 1,668, % of Pop 35.9%, % MOE 4.1%
Hawkins, # in Gap 3,216 % of Pop 34.3%, % MOE 4.0%

Remember, as the Governor and Legislature surely do not want you to, that these figures represent real human lives. Also, according to Daily Kos, hospital corporations are already noticing drops in the number of uninsured patients they see. Our own HCA reports a 29% decrease in uninsured admissions in Medicaid expansion states and a 5.9% growth of uninsured admissions in states that have refused expansion.
