Tennessee Rep announces added performances of ‘Cabaret’ (Photos)

The show hasn’t even premiered yet, but tickets for the Tennessee Repertory Theatre’s production of ‘Cabaret’ are in such high demand, additional shows were added to the production’s run. The multiple Tony Award winning musical has seen many revivals, and participants of the Tennessee Rep’s production say that this will be a darker, yet equally compelling production.

The musical, which originally premiered on Broadway in 1966 and spawned the 1972 film of the same name starring Liza Minnelli, follows the story of Sally Bowles (Jenny Littleton), a British cabaret performer at the Kit Kat Klub and Cliff Bradshaw (Patrick Waller), an American writer. The story is set against the backdrop of 1930’s Berlin and the swell of Nazi oppression.

David Compton, who is cast as the Emcee, and Jenny Littleton recently appeared on NewsChannel5’s ‘Out & About’ to promote the show. Check it out here!

Tennessee Rep’s ‘Caberet’ will take place at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center’s (TPAC) Johnson Theater. The show will run February 16, 2013-March 16, 2013, with preview days on February 14th and 15th.
