Tennessee is best place in USA for pumpkins

When one thinks of October, it is natural to think of pumpkins. Some 'holiday' toward the end of the month may be responsible for that line of thought.

This year, Tennessee is the place to be when it comes to pumpkins. Other states across the US have had problems producing enough of the gourd-like squash due to bad weather. In the northeast, the devastating effects of Hurricane Irene has caused a severe shortage when pumpkin patches were destroyed. Problems with drought, especially in Georgia, have caused pumpkin producers to be short as well.

Right here in the Volunteer State, however, the incredible amounts of rain from Tropical Storm Lee were perfect timing for the pumpkin crop and have led to a robust amount of the ball-looking orange product.

Marketers do encourage pumpkin buyers to hurry and make their selections as demand will put pressure on the number of available pumpkins. According to the Associated Press, the supply made be sold out by October 15th. Prices are expected to remain steady across Tennessee despite the short supply in other states.
