Ten in Ten with Author KC Klein

On Writing and KC Klein:

What she does: Has a uniform of yoga pants, leopard slippers and no make-up. Spends hours upon hours staring at a computer screen. Forgets to shower when the writing is good and has whining breakdowns when it’s not.

Why she likes it: Because obsession is excusable when you’re a writer. No one medicates you for hearing voices in your head. And because I get paid for doing something I would’ve done for free.

Inspiration comes from: Everywhere: TV, movies, music…my best friend’s therapy sessions…eavesdropping on the neighbor’s phone conversation…anyone’s personal traumas they might unwittingly share…

If not writing, then what? I like to run. I like to work out because, well, I like to eat.

What's next? I’m finishing up the next book in my Texas Fever series, titled Hustlin’ Texas, which will be Jett and Nikki’s story. I’m also getting ready to publish the next novella in my group project, Hotter on the Edge, which is the continuation of Lake and Hudson’s story.

On the latest release:

Name of your main character? Katie Harris

What Katie Harris does that I wish I could do. Have sex with Cole Logan.

Something Katie Harris would never do. Turn away a friend, whether animal or human, in need.

What Katie Harris would say about KC Klein. That I’m brutal, mean and like to torture my characters. Hmmm…my children say the same thing. :)

What Katie Harris would say I do that embarrasses him/her. Probably that I wrote their wedding night in explicit detail and put it in a book for the whole world to see. Ha! I think that would embarrass me.

About KC Klein

KC Klein has lived most of her life with her head in the clouds and her nose buried in a book. She did stop reading long enough to make a home with a real life hero, her husband, for over sixteen years. A mother of two children, she spends her time slaying dragons, saving princesses, and championing the belief in the happily-ever-after. Her debut novel, Dark Future, is a finalist in the 2012 Prism contest and has been honored with a reviewer’s choice award. Her other titles include a science fiction romance anthology, Hotter on the Edge, and a new contemporary romance, Texas Wide Open. KC loves to hear from readers and can be found desperately pounding away on her laptop in yoga pants and leopard slippers or more conveniently at www.kckleinbooks.com.
