This event has been going on for an untold number of years – unofficially 34 - and draws an enthusiastic crowd of hashers, runners, roller bladers and bikers from throughout the metropolitan area and beyond. There are no known organizers and there are no sign ups – people just show up at the start at the Long Branch Train Station. The start is at 10:17 a.m.. Just before the start someone hands out a hand drawn map with the ten bars on the course that ultimately ends up at Bar A in Lake Como.

The event demonstrates the validity of the saying "Hashers are beer drinkers with a running problem"

The participants will follow a trail of flour leading to ten bars along the way to the finish. At each stop (pint of beer is optional) the participants gather and it’s a tradition for someone to tell a slightly off color joke so if you are offended just step outside for a minute. Then the group heads off to the next stop until they arrive later in the afternoon at Bar A in Lake Como.

After a final beer and possibly some great tasting food you can then get the train from Belmar back to Long Branch or hitch a ride.

There is no advanced registration and no one in particular is responsible or in charge.

Bring some dollar bills to pay for the refreshments along the way. Generally someone goes ahead and negotiates a beer deal and asks for donations to support the cause along the way.

Be prepared to spend the day as the group gets back to the finish at about 4 or 5 p.m.
