Ten fun facts about longtime Vogue editor Anna Wintour (Photos)

Love her or hate her, Anna Wintour has definitely put her stamp on the fashion industry not only in the U.S but all over the world. Condé Nast recently announced that Anna Wintour would become the “artistic director” of the company and that she will be a consultant on editorial decisions with all of Condé Nast titles.

Not only is she going to oversee Condé Nast’s fashion titles but their general interest publications as well which include Architectural Digest, Vanity Fair, and The New Yorker.

We thought this would be great time to share some fun facts about Anna Wintour:

1- Anna Wintour has been the Editor-in-chief of American Vogue since 1988 (25 years).

2-She is a huge fan of “Fur” and let’s just say she is not PETA’s favorite person.

2- She has been wearing her signature hair style ( a bob ) since she was 14 years old (she is 63 now), if you are doing the math in your head that’s 49 years, wow…now that’s impressive.

3- She has become an important figure in the fashion world primarily because of her eye for fashion trends and for her support for young, up and coming designers.

4- It is said that she is cold, calculating, intimidating, unapproachable and demanding, earning her the nickname "Nuclear Wintour".

5- Anna Wintour receives numerous perks that come with the job including a chauffeur, a Mercedes S-Class (both in New York and abroad), a hair and makeup artist that goes to her house everyday to do her hair/makeup and travels with her, a $200,000 thousand dollars shopping allowance and the Coco Chanel Suite at the Hotel Ritz in Paris while attending the European Fashion Weeks.

6- According to the BBC documentary series Boss Woman, she rarely stays at parties for more than 20 minutes at a time and gets to bed by 10:15 every night.

7- Anna is a very discipline woman; she has a routine that she follows every day: She is up before 6 am, plays tennis; she has her hair and makeup done and then she gets to Vogue's offices by 8:00 am.

8- She is known for being very punctual; she always arrives at fashion shows well before their scheduled start. "I use the waiting time to make phone calls and notes; I get some of my best ideas at the shows", she says.

9- Anna always seats in the front at that fashion shows that she attends wearing dark sunglasses, she says that they allow her to keep her reactions to a show private. In an interview with 60 minutes she said: "I think at this point they've become, you know, really armor".

10- The movie “The Devil Wears Prada” it is said to be inspired by Anna’s life. She attended the premier of the movie and of course, she wore Prada.
