The Driscoll's 33rd Annual Strawberry Classic road race will transpire on March 22, 2014 in the city of Temple Terrace, Fla. The Temple Terrace Police Department and its cadre of law enforcement officers are gearing up to ensure the road race is made safe and secure as it wends through their city.
Temple Terrace police officers are prepared with a blueprint of where race runners will be routed, where traffic control devices will be utilized, and how safety procedures will be executed.
Certain streets will be cordoned for pedestrians to run safely. Tampa Bay Runners club participants will be out en masse to engage in this 33rd annual classic race sponsored by Driscoll's, a leading strawberry producer here in the Tampa Bay area.
Commencing at 6:00 a.m. and running through 10:00 a.m., Temple Terrace police will have the road race route secured before-hand and will be available to provide directions not only to pedestrians but also to the motoring public seeking alternate routes.
Billed as the largest road race offered in the city, there will be 5, 10, and 15K features for novice to more-avid runners.
Registrations fees and/or any other information pertaining to entry and participation can be found on the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) website under the 33rd Annual Strawberry Classic. Funds collected will be donated to the Pediatric Cancer Foundation.
Sponsored by the Tampa Bay Runners organization, runners of all ages and all speeds are welcome to participate in this annual event of health-conscious fun and to partake in a fundraising opportunity benefiting children with cancer.
