Temperatures expected to drop sharply tonight and tomorrow

We've enjoyed a temperate winter in Charlotte, with lows often reaching into the 30s.  This weekend is expected to be much colder.  Weather.com is projecting that tonight's lows will be at 21 degrees in Charlotte.

If you own tender plants that need protection, you may want to wrap them in frost protecting fabric and/or old bed sheets.  The wind is currently blowing at 22 to 31 miles per hour, so the fabric will need to be held down either by clipping the fabric to the frame or by pinning the fabric to the ground.  Small statuary or stones that are easy to move can also be used to help pin the fabric in place.

By Tuesday, the weater is expected to be moderate again, with highs in the 50s and lows in the mid 30s. See the attached links for recent articles on protecting your plants during cold snaps.
