A temper tantrum ad, comparing a baby throwing a temper tantrum to House Speaker John Boehner, is set to hit TV this Sunday during football. The sounds of this baby throwing a temper tantrum are irritating as the narrator conveys that Boehner didn’t get his way so he shut down the government, as seen in the above video.
According to Euroweb on Oct. 4, this ad “reflects what a majority of Americans think about the House Speaker John Boehner in relation to the government shutdown.” The ad will air on Sunday during the Cincinnati Bengals and New England Patriots game.
The ad consists of a sobbing baby who can’t get his own way. The commercial opens up with the close up shot of a baby crying for several seconds then a very important sounding male voice says:
“Speaker John Boehner didn’t get his way on shutting down health care reform. So, he’s shut down the government and hurt the economy.”
This ad is created by House Majority PAC, a democratic super PAC. The reason for the airtime during the Bengals and Pats’ game is because this is Boehner's district, the rural and suburban areas around Cincinnati.
Boehner is not the only one who will find himself being scrutinized in the near future, the group has launched a six-figure ad campaign in the districts of nine Republicans.
Expect some disparaging ads for the following Republicans:
Gary Miller (Calif.)
Mike Coffman (Colo.)
Rodney Davis (Ill.)
Mike Fitzpatrick (Pa.)
Michael Grimm (N.Y.)
Joe Heck (Nev.)
Dave Joyce (Ohio)
John Kline (Minn.)
Steve Southerland (Fla.)
It’s politics at its best, a three ring circus pointing the fingers instead of spending the money, time and energy on fixing the real problems facing the nation today.
