Circle K New Year’s Eve Block Party on Mill
Go big at Tempe’s Circle K New Year’s Eve Block Party on Mill Avenue. This NEW New Year’s Eve event will bring impressive high-energy video dance clubs to the streets creating a party like never seen before. Mill Avenue will be filled with local entertainment and attractions, a family fun zone (with an early fireworks show at 9 p.m.), a variety of gourmet food trucks, beer gardens, champagne lounges and a midnight countdown complete with a shimmering firework display and confetti blast. The newest attraction is a fleet of vehicles outfitted with fun sound and lighting effects. One vehicle, “Walter the Bus” is a former fire truck turned VW bus that features a second story balcony. The Block Party INSIDE The Block Party – New Year’s Eve on Mill Ave.
This party is located INSIDE the City of Tempe block party and is perfect for those wanting to be on Mill Ave. for New Year’s, while enjoying a more intimate “block party” experience. The Handlebar Tempe, Fat Tuesday, El Hefe and Public House have joined forces to bring your New Year’s Eve Mill Avenue experience to a whole new level! There will be 12 bars, Champagne toasts to ring in the new year and 6 DJ’s to keep you dancing ‘til your sock fall off. Tickets will be sold at the door and can also be purchased online. Cover charge starts at $10 pre-sale and escalates the closer it gets to midnight, so buy your tickets early. VIP tickets get ‘no wait’ in line and all tickets include re-admission. MAMMA MIA! opens at Gammage on December 31
Sing along to your favorite ABBA tunes to ring in the New Year! MAMMA MIA! opens at ASU Gammage on New Year’s Eve and is onstage through January 5. If you decide to go on New Year’s Eve, the show starts at 7:30 p.m. and is approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes long, leaving theater goers plenty of time afterwards to attend the festivities on Mill! This show is just plain fun from beginning to end and a joyous way to celebrate on New Year’s Eve. It has a great story line with loads of tuneful Abba songs that bring out the dancing queen in all of us. MAMMA MIA! is truly one of those shows that you can see over and over again and never be bored.
Las Noches de las Luminarias at the Desert Botanical Garden
Celebrate New Year’s Eve among more than 8,000 hand lit luminarias and thousands of white twinkle lights at Las Noches de las Luminarias at the Desert Botanical Garden. The Garden is aglow every evening through December 31 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Stroll through the illuminated garden pathways and listen to the sounds of hand bells ringing and Dickens Carolers while enjoying a cup of hot apple cider or hot chocolate. Ten musical groups will perform nightly throughout the Garden and a tasty selection of food and beverages are available for guests to purchase to keep warm and cozy all evening long. This would be a romantic evening for couples, or a nice option for families too. Tickets are $30 for adults and $12.50 for children ages 3-12 (children 3 and under are free).
