According to reports on Jan 14, 2013, Mahesh Babu and Venkatesh starrer Telugu film "Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu (SVSC)" has earned wonderful collections in the first weekend at the U.S. box-office.
The movie, which was released two days after another Telugu film "Naayak", topped the U.S. box-office chart pushing down "Naayak" to the second place.
"SVSC" stood in first position in the U.S. collection chart with a total of $12,62,100 (Rs 6.87 crores) from 69 screens. "Naayak" occupied the second spot with a weekend total $3,87,808 (Rs 2.11 crores) on 54 screens.
Ram Charan Teja, Kajal Aggarwal and Amala Paul starrer "Naayak", was released in 52 screens across America on January 9.
The response has been good to the movie due to the release time being a festival time. "SVSC" was released in 69 screens in U.S. on January 11. The three day total of the movie have overtook collections of "Naayak".
Imran Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer Hindi movie "Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola" (MKBKM) had dull collections at the overseas box-office in its first weekend.
The movie was affected by many Telugu, Tamil and Punjabi releases. the movie has collected $3,38,726 (Rs 1.85 crores) from 113 screens and landed in the third place at U.S. box-office.
