Tellus360 offers Environmental Movie Night

Today is a busy day at Tellus360! There is something for everyone today. At 2 p.m. Corty Byron will lead the Americana Jam Session. Bring your instrument of choice and join in. Learn Irish Set Dancing at 5 p.m. Set dancing is more akin to square dancing than it is step dancing. At 7 p.m. there will be a screening of “The Last Mountain.”

“The Last Mountain” examines the coal industry and America’s need for energy. Award winning documentary filmmaker Bill Haney wrote, produced and directed this 95 minute film in 2011. The film is rated PG. The showing is part of Tellus360’s new Environmental Movie Night sponsored by the Shalefield Organizing Committee.

William Shakespeare is a literary name almost everyone recognizes. Tellus360 invites you to celebrate the Bard’s 450th birthday from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. this evening. Trixie Greiner and The Bon Accords will provide live music. The People's Shakespeare Project will perform as well. The cost is $15 for students and $25 for adults. Tellus360 is located at 24 East King Street.

Eric Peters and Andrew Osenga are performing live tonight at the Trust Performing Arts Center. The performance begins at 7 p.m. Regular admission is $15. The Trust is located at 37 North Market Street.

The Pressroom will present “Rue de la Pompe” with David Francis at 5:30 p.m. The Pressroom is located at 26 West King Street.

Today, Christians around the world are celebrating Palm Sunday. The First United Methodist Church of Lancaster will hold a Palm Sunday Mini “Messiah” Cantata at 10:45 a.m. The church is located at 29 East Walnut Street.

The Lancaster Road Runners Club will meet at 7:30 a.m. for a trail run at the Lancaster County Central Park. Use the Chesapeake Street entrance and park behind the ranger station.

Yesterday many people had their heads shaved at Annie Baileys to raise funds for the St. Baldrick's Society, an organization that raises money to fight children's cancer. If you missed yesterday, the next local event will be on 3 May at Mimidis Karate, 111 Rohrerstown Road.
