Telltale Games are bringing their much lauded, narrative and decision driven series, The Wolf Among Us and The Walking Dead to Playstation 4 and Xbox One consoles "later this year" according to a post on the Telltale Blog.
The two series have proven to define Telltale's style of choice in games and a heavy narrative focus, making players decide who lives and who dies, directly or indirectly. The Walking Dead will release as seasons one and two, and The Wolf Among Us will likely be inclusive of just the first season of content, as these episodes have yet to wrap a full season. Not made explicit by the post is how the content will be available, but as the success of digital downloads for the Telltale franchises has proven fruitful, digital is a safe bet.
The post also details that disc-based versions of these seasons will be made available for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 consoles, following the success of the direct download campagins. No release date has yet been announced, but Telltale informs eager buyers to preorder "at their favorite retailers".
The news of The Wolf Among Us and Walking Dead coming to next gen should prove a ray of hope for next-gen owners, as Telltale is also hard at work on a Game of Thrones title, as well as Tales from the Borderlands. Details on both of these titles are slim at best, but knowing the developer is migrating titles to PS4 and Xbox One shows likelihood that both upcoming games will also be available on the next generation consoles.
