TellTale Games, the gaming publisher behind such episodic video game titles as “The Walking Dead” and “A Wolf Among Us” has signed a multi-year deal with HBO to published games based on the Emmy Award-winning television program“The Game of Thrones,” the two companies announced today via a press release obtained by Examiner.
According to the press release the series, which is based on the book "A Song of Ice and Fire" by George R.R. Martin, will be an episodic one much like “The Walking Dead” and “A Wolf Among Us” and is scheduled to premiere on home consoles, PC/Mac, and mobile devices sometime in 2014. No other system specific details or price points have been announced.
"Since the very beginning, Telltale's goal has been to work alongside the most talented and respected forces in entertainment, bringing their worlds to the interactive space as no other game studio can," Dan Connors, co-founder and CEO of Telltale Games said in today’s press release. "Working with HBO to develop a new game series based on Game of Thrones is a natural fit for our studio. This partnership will create an experience that will captivate the huge, global Game of Thrones audience. It will put them in control of the epic stories of warfare, intrigue, violence and revenge that we know and love."
