The video and film of four female artists is “Telling Tales” at 1708 Gallery through February 2.
Sara Pomerance, Lydia Moyer, Jennifer Sullivan and Keren Cytter illustrate a variety of themes, including the mundane to cultural phenomenon, in their work on view for one week per artist.
Moyer’s “Paradise” examines five sites of disasters, including Hurricane Katrina, and is on view until tomorrow.
Sullivan’s “Adult Movie” and “One-Week Walden” are a tongue in cheek style of semi-biographical pieces about the struggle of an artist for authenticity. Both films will be on view January 20-26.
Cytter’s fragmented style in “Four Seasons” and “Konstruktion” portray anxiety and distress in relationships, and will be on view January 27-Feb. 2.
All four artists’ work will be shown at the gallery for First Friday February 3 and on Saturday, February 4.
A gallery talk will also be held.
