The popular super-group Fleetwood Mac certainly did not intend for the lyrics of one its most popular songs, "Little Lies," to be used politically, yet at least some of the lyrics perfectly describe politics in America today.
Following one of the events I have been doing for churches this October, a lady approached me afterward with some profound if not positive truth.
She stated that most Americans, not even most Christians, wish to hear the whole truth anymore -- not in politics, not in Christianity, not in economics, not in anything whatsoever.
She said that Americans want to believe fairy tales that placate them and sooth their fears, even if those words are patently false. She said Christians have turned their backs on the Gospel. How? They want only half-truths and not the whole truth. The whole truth is too unpleasant and painful.
A half-truth is not the truth but a lie.
And Americans seem to plead that the truth not be told about harsh economic reality. We have built ourselves a house of cards sitting on a sand pile. So easily it can all be blown or washed away.
We don't want to hear that, however. "Tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies." Reassure me with some claptrap about longterm security and such. Hint: there is no such thing as "longterm security" in life. None whatsoever.
But Americans keep reelecting to Congress and other public offices those that repeat the lies over and over. And to this day, after all we know, after everything we have discovered in countless investigations, a full 45.1 percent according to some polls do not blame Barack Obama for a single thing and in fact approve of the job he's doing.
If it had been any other president, including Ronald Reagan, who presided over the present fiasco that is the United States of America, that president would garner a dismal 25 percent approval rating.
But not Barack Obama. Why?
Tell me more and more lies. The news media, the elitist ruling class, the intelligentsia of academia, and a host of other sectors of the modern slave masters must keep the lowly peons of the populace well-fed with more and more lies in order to prevent "civil unrest on the part of the ignorant, poor masses."
The only problem is those who refuse to be slaves have already started taking steps to dismantle the centralized government tyranny.
They have seen the lies and decided they will no longer listen to a single word that proceeds from the mouths of the White House, most in Congress, and a Supreme Court headed by a Chief Justice who gave us Obamacare based upon the lie that the whole thing is a "tax."
This protest will continue to escalate until the ideals of Washington, Madison, Mason, Henry, Jefferson, and Franklin are reinstalled as the ultimate law of the land.
But woe be unto those who brought us to this point, making such drastic action necessary.
