Television news anchor loses it during 'gun hidden in vagina' story

A television news anchor in Chicago literally lost it after a news story that focused -- somewhat -- on a strange form of gun smuggling. The laughing fit, embedded below, took place during a Wednesday news broadcast on Chicago’s WGN-TV.

The story, as broadcast by WGN-TV, said that police in Ada, Okla., arrested Christie Dawn Harris at the Dairy Lou Drive Inn on drug charges, after a drug-sniffing dog alerted on her. However, the woman kept saying she needed to go to th bathroom, and the authorities soon discovered why.

A female officer searching Harris noticed “something strange.”

Pontotoc County District Attorney Chris Ross said:

The officer observed the handle of a revolver sticking out from inside her body.

You read that correctly: As a police property report confirmed, the item was a “gun located in suspect's vagina.”

The report went on to say that the weapon was “loaded with three live rounds and one spent shell.”

Ross explained,

It was a five shot. It was loaded and as she turned around, she noticed more plastic baggies, larger plastic baggies wedged in the crack of her buttocks.

It would seem to be a very dangerous place to carry a loaded firearm. If it goes off it’s only going one place.

Both the revolver and baggies full of methamphetamine were removed -- as you might expect -- from the woman’s body.

It was this situation that brought WGN-TV's co-anchor Robin Baumgarten to tears.

“What?” she exclaimed.

"Who doesn't have that?" an off-screen voice is heard saying.

“The old caboose pistol; everybody has one,” co-anchor Larry Potash added.

The off-camera voice is heard saying, "What are you getting all worked up over?"

Potash is heard saying, "Hey, don’t knock it 'til you've tried it."

At that point, Baumgarten lost control: “Did you just say, caboose pistol?”

To that, Potash quipped, “I know some women that could hide a machine gun in there. I’m sorry, we’re getting off track. What?"

Baumgarten told Potash to take the next story as she continued to laugh.

She also made sure Potash wouldn't get away with the memorable quote, tweeting
