Court records reveal that gospel singer and pastor, Marvin Sapp, filed a personal protection order against missing Michigan doctor, Teleka Patrick, according to a Jan. 2, 2014, WOODTV report.

The court document filed in Sept. 2013 states Teleka was stalking Sapp.

In it he wrote, “She has moved from CA to MI… Joined my church, contacts my children, and has been to my home.”

Sapp also wrote in the document that Teleka was claiming he was her husband, reports WOODTV.

The gospel singer released a statement Thursday evening, which read:

Throughout my career, my family and I have fallen victim to inappropriate attempts to contact me by several unknown individuals. As a father of three and pastor of one of the largest congregations in West Michigan, I cannot… take this kind of obsessive attention lightly. Given these previous acts, I have taken several security measures which have included obtaining a protective order to ensure our safety. Not only am I concerned about my family, I am deeply concerned about the well-being of all families. My prayers of love, safety, reconciliation and support are always and forever with God’s children."

Teleka’s parents, Mattahais and Irene Patrick, released a statement of their own to Target 8 on Thursday after the protective order information was revealed, which said in part:

…Regardless of Teleka’s emotional state, we believe wholeheartedly that she has encountered some harm or danger… Concerning the protection order that was filed against Teleka earlier this year, we have been advised by the Kalamazoo Sheriff’s Department that the release of this information could possibly impede the investigation into her disappearance. We encourage you to contact the Kalamazoo Sheriff’s Department and the FBI with any questions that you have… The fact that Teleka’s car was found with a flat tire on I-94 has not changed. The fact that she has not been seen since December 5th has not changed… Teleka is missing and we want whoever has her or has harmed her in any way to come forward… we won’t be whole again until she is found."

Teleka, 30, failed to show up for work on Dec. 6, 2013.

The night prior, police found her car with a flat tire abandoned in an Indiana ditch alongside an interstate about 100 miles away from Kalamazoo where she worked. Reports indicate her wallet was still inside the vehicle.

Teleka’s cell phone was left at her place of employment, Borgess Hospital.

According to CNN, Dec. 5 surveillance video from a local Radisson hotel shows Teleka at the front desk just after 7:30 p.m. She is dressed in all black and spends about 10 minutes speaking with the reception desk. Teleka then leaves after failing to book a room.

She can be seen exiting out the hotel’s front doors at about 7:48 p.m. and getting on a shuttle bus, which took her to her car, CNN reports.

Two recently discovered YouTube videos uploaded in November show Teleka “cooing and singing to someone unnamed and apparently unknown.” One of them also shows a table “set for two with omelets and pancakes,” according to CNN. Her family reportedly was not aware she was romantically involved with anyone at present.

On Jan. 1, Teleka’s ex-husband, Ismael Calderon, told Target 8 during their marriage she was paranoid and heard voices. He noted their union deteriorated when he asked her to seek help for mental issues.
