Telecom stocks struggled to hold 52-week highs last week. In Toronto, BCE, Telus, and Rogers Communications declined between 0.5% and 2.5%.
Telus held up better than Rogers and BCE.
BCE continued to show strength in its mobility unit by introducing the HTC 4G device. This is a coup for the company, as Bell Mobility is making lead-edge devices available for its customers.
In contrast, Rogers is a step behind in providing the latest devices. Rogers also pays the lowest dividend of the three.
BCE pays a dividend of 5.3%. Telus pays a dividend of 4.4%. Rogers pays 4% (on the U.S. exchange).
