Tejon Ranch's I-5 Commercial Center, south of Bakersfield, called a 'success'

Tejon Ranch Co. credits several factors for the success of its Tejon Ranch Commercial Center for becoming one of the hottest commercial/industrial developments in California. But its strategic location is chief among them.

“By any measure, the Tejon Ranch Commerce Center is a success,” wrote Barry Zoeller, Tejon’s vice president of corporate communications and marketing in the Kern Business Journal.

“It is Kern County’s leading location for major distribution centers, a key link in California’s logistics and goods movement industries, and a major force for economic development and job creation in Kern County,” he wrote.

Located at the junction of Interstate 5 and Highway 99, about 20 miles south of Bakersfield, the Tejon Ranch Commerce Center hosts more than 3.5 million square feet of industrial space, with an additional 16.5 million available. It is home to major distribution facilities for IKEA and Famous Footwear, and in 2012 added Dollar General and Caterpillar to the mix of major companies located within the development.
