A Texas teenager is accused of the vicious murder of his mother and sister. According to his confession, the teen said the horror flick “Halloween” is what inspired him to brutally kill him mom and sister.

Jake Evans, 17, wrote out his confession describing how he felt when he watched the 2007 movie. Parker County Judge Graham Quisenberry released Evans’ confession on Thursday.
Evans wrote, “While watching it I was amazed at how at ease the boy was during the murders and how little remorse he had afterword [sic]. I was thinking to myself it would be the same for me when I kill someone.”

Evans is accused of murdering his mother, Jamie Evans, 48, and his sister Mallory, 15 in their Aledo, Texas home. The brutal slaying took place in October 2012 and within just a few hours of his arrest, Evans wrote out a four page confession.
In his confession, Evans also wrote that he watched the Rob Zombie “Halloween” remake three times a week. The remake was written as a prequel to the original slasher movie “Halloween” that debuted in 1978.
The prequel is the storyline that covers the childhood of the fictional killer, Michael Myers. In the movie, the young Myers butchered several people when he was 10. His victims were his older sister, her boyfriend and his mother’s boyfriend.
According to police, Evans wrote in his confession, “After I watched the movie I put it back in the case and threw it in the trashcan so that people wouldn’t think that it had influenced me in any way.”
The chilling confession reflected the thought and planning of an evil soul. He wrote that one the day of the murders, he watched his favorite movie then went to play golf.
After he finished his golf rounds, he started thinking about and planning the heinous murder of his entire family. Evans wrote, “My plan was to kill my sister and my mom at my house and then go over to my grandparents and kill my older sister, Emily, and my two grandparents.”
“Then I was going to wait until morning and kill my other sister, Audrey, because she was visiting from college.” The handwritten confession went on to describe how he intended to kill them.
Evans stated in his confession that his first choice of a weapon was a folding knife. He said he wanted to use the knife in order to make them feel “excruciating pain.”
Then he decided to shoot them with a .22 revolver he’d stolen from his grandfather. When he decided to use the gun, Evans said it was so they wouldn’t “feel anything.”
Jake Evans walked into his sister’s bedroom at 11:30 p.m. He wrote that, “I shot her in the back and then in the head. I ran down to the study and shot my mom three times.”
Hearing a noise, Evans said he realized his sister wasn’t dead. He said he was sorry then shot her again. Wanting to make sure his mom was dead, police reported that Jake Evans went back into the study where his mother’s body lay and shot her in the head.
Evans described in his confession how he felt afterward. “Very shocked and scared, I placed the gun on the kitchen counter and walked into the living room to dial 911.”
Jake Evans was charged with one count of capital murder and two counts of murder. Judge Quisenberry approved the prosecution’s request for a $750,000 bond.
Jake Evans’ father was out of town on business when the murders occurred. He has declined to bail his son out of jail. As of yet, no trial date has been set.
