A Washington teenager that has become famous for living in the wild, breaking into homes and evading capture was spotted in Nebraska.

Colton Harris-Moore, 19, nicknamed the "Barefoot Bandit" because he allegedly commits crimes in his barefeet, has been on the lam since April 2008, when he escaped from a halfway house south of Seattle.

Authorities believe that Colton is probably the burglar that has been breaking into homes in Washington and stealing supplies and food, that is allowing him to continue living in the woods. In some of the homes he breaks into, he will soak in the bathtub or eat ice cream from the refrigerator.

Last year, a photograph surfaced that was probably taken by Colton himself, that shows him laying on the ground surrounded by camping gear.  The police feel that it was Colton's way of saying, "You can't catch me" as he left the camera behind to be found.

As time progressed Colton is alleged to have stolen boats, cars and even small airplanes that he has hot-wired and then crash-landed. Bare footprints were found at Bonners Ferry, Idaho, where a plane was stolen, then crash-landed 260 miles to the west in Washington. In February, someone broke into a San Juan Islands grocery store and made chalk-outlined footprints on the floor, before they left.

But, Colton doesn't just take, on June 18, Raymond Police Chief Ken Boyes believes Colton left $100 and a note at the Vetters Animal Hospital in Raymond, Pacific County sometime over the Memorial Day Weekend. The note read, "Drove by, had some extra cash. Please use this cash for the care of animals --Colton Harris-Moore, (AKA: "The Barefoot Bandit") Camano Island, WA."

Pam Kohler, Coltons mom said that Colton started living in the wild at the age of seven, and would break into vacation homes in the area, stealing blankets and food, and then disappear into the forest for days. His first conviction for stolen property came at age 12, and by the time he was 13, he had three more.

Friday, police in Yankton, South Dakota said that fingerprints take from a June 18 burglary match those of Coltons.

A Facebook page has been set up that has drawn over 43,000 followers.

Colton has dark hair and blue eyes and is around 6'2" tall.

If you spot Colton, you can report his whereabouts to the police, or you just might decide not to.

Why do we make hero's of people like this? Stealing is stealing. Someone is going to end up shooting the little turd. People won't think he is so cool when he is dead. Or will they?

what are you talking about thomas?

Just because he lives outside of the constraints of society does not make him a criminal nor does it make him a sociopath. He's not hurting anybody- hell he can come eat ice cream at my house. Go him for doing what he wants instead of lying down and accepting what we are told to want in life.

Clubs, you don't think that stealing cars, planes, and boats is hurting anyone? If he wasn't such a Pussy he would live off the forest and not off other peoples goods.
