Paramount Pictures has not yet released much information about the movie's plot, but a lot of people would say that there doesn't need to be much of a plot for a movie like this, which is based on the children's TV series of the same name. The "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" TV series and movies are about crime-fighting, talking turtles named Michelangelo, Donatello, Leonardo and Raphael.

Megan Fox, Will Arnett, William Fichtner and Whoopi Goldberg are among the cast members of the 2014 reboot of the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" movie, which is directed by Jonathan Liebesman, who directed 2011's "Battle: Los Angeles" and 2012's "Wrath of the Titans." The first "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" movie was released in 1990.

The screenplay for the 2014 reboot of the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" movie was written by Josh Appelbaum, André Nemec and Evan Daugherty.

Michael Bay, the director of the "Transformers" movies, is one of the producers of the 2014 reboot of the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" movie.

Reactions to the movie's first trailer have been mixed. Here's a sampling of comments:

From the official Facebook page for the 2014 reboot of the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" movie:

"Really the turtles were created in a lab to defeat a horde of ninjas that had invaded New York? That's the best story you could come up with? Why destroy an already great storyline? It would be ok to mess up the storyline if you were replacing it with a better storyline, but I don't know... Well at least they aren't space aliens."

"Looks f*cking awsome."

"This looks good and is created for a new generation. New story line. New turtles. Dont get me wrong I grew up & love the original cartoon & movies, they are CLASSICS. But look at what Michael Bay did with the Transformers franchise and you cannot tell me you didnt enjoy those movies after saying the same thing."

"Will you all shut up, you arrogant bastards! it's only a brief trailer and you guys are already putting out detailed reviews? i never knew you could all tell the future! i'm glad the storyline has changed abit, i have witnessed the old storyline. wouldn't you guys like to see it in a different perspective and not re-watch the same old stuff? get a grip and watch it first."

"You made a BIG mistake casting megan fox! She is nothing like April O'Neil! I hope you guys don't ruin this movie!"

"I do not know Mr. Bay. Last time you messed up transformers now you go after another of my childhood shows."

"Since 1987 I always thought the shredder was Japanese. Who cast William Fitchner as the shredder?"

"They 'white washed; Shredder this go around. His name is Eric Sachs I think... But there's a bigger problem...why is he narrating the story and talking about the crime like he's a good guy that made the Turtles? Aren't they supposed to be rivals? How does Shredder know April's father? Confused..."

"Please Don’t Screw up the Ninja Turtles.follow the cartoon stories."

"Trailer looks very impressive... I loved TMNT when i was a kid. I also heart that Michael bay changed the main storyline about how the turtles were created. Maaaan a hope they didn't mess up this movie with politic and all kind of bullsh*t."

"Why are their shells so high up???? That looks stupid!, ive grew up with the turtles since 83! This is by far the most horrible looking one yet!!!! DONT RUIN THIS FRANCHISE! They also look like the toxic avenger from the troma vids. On top of that what story line are you doing? You got april with brown hair and her dads a scientist which is off the newest (and equally best compared to the original), then have her older and with a yellow jumpsuit like the first live action movie (which rocked). So thats 2 different storys.... Then you have megan fox.... Like seriously? Why is she always the lead female actor in Michael Bay films? Just cause you can get a lot of live action and great Cgi doesnt mean you can pull this off, ... If the turtles dont look or sound like the turtles is going to flop... Big time. Ex, the xbox 360 game they came out with. yes they looked more like real turtles but they didnt make them look THAT bad as you guys depicted..... You really need to go back and re model the guys hardcore.... Wish i knew where i could give feedback on forums.... Like how jacked would it have been if you guys didnt listen to the fans..... Like them coming from outer space... Oh an the turtles never killed anyone, yet you show bad guys hitting walls at speeds that would kill them..... Smh"

From the official YouTube channel for the 2014 reboot of the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" movie:

"The shredder is white? thats not like mr miyagi being white! its not the same."

"I have mixed feelings about this... the quality looks top notch of course... but... the changes got my guard up about this as a fan of the franchise... having grown up with these toys and cartoons and live action movies from way before this 2010 era... this kind of story change seems like too much off in left field to me. Not a home run."

"This actually looks pretty rad."

"I liked it, but cringed whenever Megan Fox appeared. That's not April, that's some dumb bimbo with a cell phone."

"So the turtles look like Gary Coleman without their masks?"

"Yep, destroy my childhood in August."

"The only thing I like about this teaser is Leo."

"By the looks of the trailer: 1- Turtles look sick 2- Megan Fox is NOT April 3- Better have the TMNT theme in the movie 4- Praying Splinter looks good too 5- Casey James and Pizza are a MUST!! I'm split 50/50, but I'm def going to give It a chance."

"Anything Michael Bay touches turns to sh*t."

"I WANT TMNT 2 (the sequel 2007 CGI film), not this crap."
