Teenage girls perform exorcisms

Do you remember seeing the 1973 horror movie "The Exorcist" starring Linda Blair? The movie was about the demonic possession of a young girl and her mother’s desperate attempts to win back her daughter through an exorcism conducted by two priests.
Well, that was in the movies!
Inside Edition reported on February 8, 2012 that there are modern day high school and college students in Phoenix, Arizona who take time away from their studies to perform exorcisms.

The teens say they have been purging demons from those who are demon possessed. But it's nothing like anything you've seen in the movies.

According to Inside Edition, one day last month three students performed an exorcism on 51-year-old Matt Beauvais, a construction worker, who admitted he was demon possessed.

The girls included:
  • Tess Scherkenback
  • Savannah Scherkenback
  • Brynne Larson.
Bob Larson, the girls' mentor, started things off by pushing a Bible in Beauvais' chest, causing him to scream loudly. However, in a few moments Larson allowed the teens to take charge of the exorcism.

Beauvais believes he suffers from demons that go back generations. He later admitted to Inside Edition:
"I had a ton. This is how you get clean, dig in, dig in, dig in until there's nothing left."
The teens are still in training, but they are mentored by one of the teen's father, Bob Larson, who is a self-taught exorcist. Larson claimed to have conducted thousands of successful exorcisms saying he teaches people up to age 70 to become exorcist, but the teen girls seem to be the most effective.

When asked what people thought of what they were doing, one of the girls said:
"I think the biggest shock is when they walk in the room and they see braces, teenage girls, sequins."
