Teen Zoo volunteers: March 2 is the deadline to apply for the summer program

Calling out to all teens who dream of a life working with animals: the deadline for applying to the summer zoo volunteer program is March 2 (tomorrow.)

There is still a chance to spend two weeks volunteering at the zoo this summer. Teen volunteers help with the zoo camps, help in the gift store, or actually assist zookeepers in animal care. For any teen contemplating a career working with animals, this is a great opportunity to experience actually working with animals. It's also good experience.

So spend a few weeks frolicking with fruit bats instead of flirting on facebook. Again, applications need to be in by tomorrow.

The zoo also has intern programs for high school seniors and college students.
