Can Derek catch a break? What's coming up for Argent? Who hates Kate more? We were at San Diego Comic-Con this week to find out what's coming up next in "Teen Wolf" season 4, and as you can see in the video interview we posted to YouTube Saturday, July 26, from a roundtable in the press room, series stars Tyler Hoechlin and JR Bourne teased that and more.
As the latest "Teen Wolf" episode revealed, Derek is losing his powers. Uh-oh, what comes next? "You'll have to wait and see," Hoechlin teased, comparing it to when he stopped playing baseball. "It's going to be an interesting situation for Derek. It's obviously something he's never dealt with. He's been a werewolf and he's had these powers his whole life, so he has to figure out who he is without them." We'll see Derek asking himself, "Who am I if I'm not a werewolf?"
The mid-season trailer that debuted at Comic-Con teased something the extended trailer for the season already had: a new romance for Derek. But what are the odds that this one turns out like his previous ones? "Judging on history, probably pretty good," Hoechlin admitted, laughing. "Hopefully this one turns out a little bit better and she's there for the right reasons, better intentions. …We'll have to see what's in store for them."
Meanwhile, Argent is back in Beacon Hills after leaving for Paris at the end of last season with Isaac, and at the end of the last episode, he was facing some problems from fellow hunters, specifically Araya forcing him to remember their code, "We hunt those who hunt us." What's next for him? "You're going to see some intense stuff build and then it kind of gets real crazy for him. It hasn't been an easy decision for him to return there, but Argent has made so many connections over the seasons, with Derek in last season."
Check out the full video interview with Tyler Hoechlin and JR Bourne above or here for more from the "Teen Wolf" stars, including some hating on Kate. "If Derek and Argent could sit down and have a glass of bourbon or a glass of whiskey and just talk about Kate, it would be the most epic hate conversation," Hoechlin said. Bourne has even come up with an entire backstory for what life was like growing up with Kate: "You got your pesky sister syndrome. Imagine one with a gun."
"Teen Wolf" season 4 airs Mondays at 10 p.m. on MTV.
