The teen who flipped off a judge apologized to get out of jail on Friday (Feb. 8). The teen appeared in front of the judge, who ended up showing her a lot of leniency in this case. According to a report on Saturday (Feb. 9), Penelope Soto appealed to Judge Jorge Rodriguez-Chomat and ended up not having to serve 30 days in jail that he had originally handed down.
Soto became an internet sensation when a video of her flipping off the judge went viral earlier in the week. She had appeared in front of the court to answer to drug charges, but in the videos that have been leaked to the internet, she wasn't very responsive to what the judge had to say. She made rude comments, ignored his questions, and ended up getting fined for it. When the fine started to grow, she still didn't seem interested, but that changed when she was held in contempt of court.
Instead of going to jail, the infamous teen who flipped off a judge will instead go into a drug court problem. This will get her treatment for drug addiction and it could get the drug charges that the court leveled against her eventually dismissed. As a first-time offender, the court could end up dismissing the charge if she is able to complete the course.
