Teen survives cliff plunge? Yes, and get this: The 19-year-old teenager, who drove his vehicle into the ocean off a 300-foot hill in South California on Friday said he did it on purpose, according to a Dec. 27 NBC Los Angeles news report.

An unidentified teen survived the cliff plunge, and many people are calling it nothing short of a Christmas miracle, despite it being two days after old Saint Nick spread his annual holiday cheer.

Nonetheless, authorities received a call that a vehicle had driven off a tall cliff. Obviously, after receiving this type of news, the inclination is to think the worst. After all, the likelihood that a teen survives after driving off a 300-foot cliff is a tall order, at best.

However, shortly after arriving on the horrific scene, authorities discovered the lone occupant of the vehicle was alive, albeit in bad shape.

A Los Angeles County Fire Department captain said this about the teen who survived the cliff plunge:

He did this on purpose,” this according to statements the man made before being transported for treatment.

Sources say the teenager's car was being tossed around by violent waves, which made recovery difficult at first. However, a full contingency of lifeguards, police, firemen, and paramedics managed to rescue the driver from the partially submerged vehicle.

Months ago in July, another person drove their vehicle off a cliff in San Diego and survived. What's more, the plunge off that 40-foot cliff left the passenger only with minor injuries and little damage to their vehicle. Imagine that?

Friday, the teen survived the cliff plunge, but it's unclear if charges are forthcoming, depending on if the man survives the car accident.
