A Texas teen has sued her parented to avoid an abortion. The Texas teen is claiming that her parents are trying to force her to have an abortion according to a report from late Wednesday (Feb. 13). Faced with that situation, it appears that she has retained lawyers with the help of the Texas Center for Defense of Life.
The judge in this case has already issued a temporary restraining order to save the baby's life and it looks like the teen probably has a good case. There will be another hearing on Friday (Feb. 15) to cover more ground in the case and possibly even get a ruling from the judge on this lawsuit.
Among the claims that the teen is levying against her family is verbal abuse from her parents. She also states in the lawsuit that her mother "invited the paternal grandparents to a bar for further discussion, where she suggested that she might slip her an abortion pill through deception."
The father in this case has already denied all of the claims in the lawsuit and he will probably have to defend himself against the statements of his daughter in the next hearing. As for the rights of the Texas teen who has sued her parents, in this state she has the right to the final decision about whether to get an abortion, even if she is still a minor.
