According to McMinnville police, a teen jogging at McMinnville park was struck in the back by a blow dart Tuesday evening at Joe Dancer Park.
The teen said she was running on the sholder of the road with his high school cross country team when the dart hit him.
“It hit me and I just thought it was one of my friends throwing a rock at me or something, and I reached back and pulled it out,” the teen explained in an interview with KPTV, “then I looked at it and it was the dart.”
The teen doesn’t know if it was a prank or not, but said an older small light blue pickup truck with horizontal lines running along the side panels behind the doors passed by at the moment he was hit.
He saw someone pull the dart gun in as the truck drove away.
The dart was 3 and a half inches long, and the teen’s family has since turned it over to the police. He was not badly injured.
