A teenager was shot to death early Monday morning in an attempted armed robbery in a hotel parking lot in Macon.
And police said Tuesday that the 19-year-old was the culprit, They are also searching for his brother who they said was at the hotel with him.
He was pronounced dead at 5:15 a.m. from a gunshot wound to the left upper chest, Coroner Mr. Leon Jones said.
The shooting happened around 4:30 a.m. in the parking lot of the Scottish Inn at 5022 Romeiser Drive, according to Macon police.
Mr. Washington was shot while attempting to rob Mr. Douglas Jackson at gun point as he was leaving the hotel, police spokeswoman Ms. Jami Gaudet said.
Additionally, it was revealed that Mr. Washington’s brother, Mr. Paul Washington, was with him at the hotel, Ms. Gaudet said.
Police late Tuesday were still searching for Mr. Paul Washington. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Macon police at (478) 751-7500 or Crimestoppers at (877) 682-7463.
