A 19-year-old was shot multiple times and left to die outside his girlfriend’s apartment in Bibb County and deputies on Thursday said they were searching for two suspects in connection with his murder.
So far, no suspects have been identified in the shooting that happened shortly before 11:15 p.m. Wednesday at the Colonial Terrace Apartments, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
Someone called to report a person shot at the complex at 3775 Houston Ave., the sheriff’s spokesman Lt. Sean DeFoe said. When deputies arrived they found 19-year-old Majesty Jaques Conover with multiple gunshot wounds outside his girlfriend’s apartment building, officials said.
The teen, who lived on Case Street in Macon, had been shot in the torso and chest with a handgun, according to the Bibb County Coroner. Conover was transported to the Medical Center of Central Georgia where he was pronounced dead at 12:43 a.m. Coroner Leon Jones said.
Witnesses told investigators that they saw two men arguing with Conover just before he was shot, the spokesman said. The suspects then fled the scene in a newer model dark-colored Honda, DeFoe said. Still, the witnesses were not able to provide a detailed description of the suspects. It’s also unclear what the three were arguing about.
Investigators on Thursday continued to interview possible witnesses and the Bibb Sheriff’s Crime Scene Investigators are processing evidence found at the incident location. It’s unclear where Conover’s girlfriend was at the time of the shooting.
Anyone with information in reference to this incident is urged to contact the Bibb Sheriff’s Office at (478) 751-7500 and ask to speak with an “on-call” investigator or call Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at (877) 682-7463.
