There was another school shooting. This time a 14-year-old was shot in the head at an Atlanta middle school Thursday, and another student has been arrested, according to police.
“An armed guard disarmed the shooter moments after the 1:50 p.m. ET shooting in a courtyard at the Price Middle School in southeast Atlanta.”
Police said the suspect fired several shots. Fortunately, more people were not injured.
The victim is expected to recover from his injuries. According to WXIA-TV, his wound was closer to the back of the neck.
Miraculous, the 14-year-old is conscious and communicating with his family.
“The school was locked down for almost three hours, and worried parents who rushed to the school were told by a school official that all other students were safe. Nearby Carver High School and Slater Elementary School were also locked down.”
With the world becoming more inhumane, perhaps metal detectors should be placed in every school. This solution would be expensive but schools should be protected, right?
School districts should not wait until more children and educators are gunned down before they establish safer facilities.
All types of people are roaming our schools, and it is safe to say that some of these families have mental illnesses or perhaps they are simply vicious.
Therefore, school districts should think about this obvious component and strive to make schools safer.
