Teen shot and killed in Minneapolis

On Sunday afternoon, a young boy was shot and killed while he was on his way home. Marvin Ray Maynard III was only 16 years old. The murder seems to be senseless. This marks the sixth murder in Minneapolis in 2010.

A neighbor saw the boy lying in the street and she went over to help him. She has been trained as a first responder and did all she could to keep the boy alive. Marvin was dead by the time the police arrived on the scene.

As of now, there are no suspects and police have found no motive for the shooting. They are attempting to determine if the shooting was random. Police believe many people witnessed the crime, therefore they will turn their attention to witnesses who may be able to help solve this case.
